Most of you have dogs but we are contemplating taking our wee mog with us to France, Belgium, Germany.
Good Idea ? Bad idea ?
Could anyone run through the requirements, Chip, jabs, documentation ?

She comes with us on uk tours. No problems, after first couple of miles she settles down and I'd miss her on my knees of an evening !

Looks like a visit to the vet will supply all the necessaries, just googled.

Still like to hear from funsters who take their cats with them though.

We take our elderly cat with us to Europe and no real issues she tends to be happy in the van or sitting on the step when the sun is around.
Ten weeks last year and again this year about the same so why not.

as we live in south-west france cannot advise on bringing cats across the channel but we do have two cats who we take on tour with us. they have both been "done", have had rabies jabs and we take de-wormer, de-fleaer and gunk to treat ear mites. have read on a motorhome site somewhere that even though ours are chipped they still have to be registered on the Spanish system. did not find this out until we returned to france.
both the cats, mother and daughter, love the camping car and as soon as the door is open they are inside! when we are en-route they travel on the memsahib's lap on a special tray/cushion. the daughter will also sleep on the dashboard. the tom-tom and I-pod are a constant source of their inquizitive natures.
we have had three months in spain, ten weeks in Portugal plus numerous shorter runs in france.
feeding/toiletries have never been a problem either but we keep a special eye on the cleanliness of these areas.
we have tried leads/harness's but these are wriggled out of so we "walk" one each. we have not encountered any problems except for them coming second in a couple of skirmishes with a resident tom in albefeira, but they did cross into his patch. other motorhomers are always fussing over them and they love that of course!
on the more remote aires or rough camping spots they roam for about fifty meters in each direction then return and settle down near us.
all in all everyone is happy.
