Euro Gas Fill adapter, Gasit (1 Viewer)

I have a Gasit Euro adapter which I have been using in Spain. {Spanish Europa Fill adaptor. - (GI-FA-004)} I had a couple of weird experiences when filling, once it would not fill although did eventually and another time seemed to blow off gas. But ignore those for the moment. When arriving in Santander I pulled in to take on a full tank of diesel and fill up the lpg. It was attendant operated and I gave my adapter to the guy to screw in which he did. It would not fill. He unscrewed the adapter and looked at it and pointed to the hole on the internal side. He went into his office and returned with what at first blush was the same but he showed me the internal hole, it was smaller by several mill. Screwed it in and filled without a problem??
I telephoned Gasit and they said that their product was standard, but I know that the exit hole was larger. So has anyone had a similar experience or any light to shed on this?

As a supplementary the gaslow equivalent is £5 more expensive for 1 than the 3 pack that Gasit sell. On the basis of owt for nowt I wonder if somewhere tolerances are not being adhered to?

That's his risk, personally I wouldn't do it without gloves ...

I was looking at a Gaslow Euro adaptor in a dealers showroom yesterday and was amazed to see that it was priced at £22.50.
Just looked on their website and that is indeed the price.
Looked at another site, LPG Shop, and they are £7.89 and on yet another site they are £10. The £10 one is listed as 'No one way valve'.
What is the difference between them all?
Does the one way valve make a difference and do I need it?
Should I just play safe and pay out for the Gaslow one?

I would like to see the various offerings to compare, as I said the Spanish used one that was exactly the same but with the exception of a smaller exit hole. Can anyone with the Gaslow adapter post the diameter of the exit hole?

My exit hole is 100mm on gaslow adaptor

You need the straight through one as the Motorhome inlet has a one way valve, it can cause problems with two valves in series.

That would probably be the answer to the problem the OP had in Spain then.
It would seem that the cheaper adaptor might be better than the overpriced ones with valves in.

We are using a gasit adaptor at the moment in Spain with no issues too. 10mm if that's any help to you

Sorry I do not understand that comment. I bought mine as part of a 3 part set from Gasit. Not sure what others they sell.

Gas-it sell both types with or without the non return valve, the one with the valve is the one you can get problems with.

Lenny I did not realise there were 2 types, like Peter I just bought a 3 pack from Gasit.

Sorry, didn't see any reference to 2 types on this thread. Anyway all 3 of my Gasit Euro adaptors do not have non return valves.

Another view. I'm guessing that this is the one way valve type. Must only cause problems in certain filling stations because to get I've had no problems, although in Spain I think all but one fill up have been at Repsol.

I'm a bit less confused now ... I think you are referring to the adaptor above on it's own at approx £8 and the one that comes with an extra part called a filter (not a valve) for around £23, but they are 2 separate pieces still.

I think the OP just has the adaptor on it's own.

I questioned this when I needed to buy a second one and I was told that gas, under pressure, would be released when the valved adapter was removed. Presumably the tiny amount trapped between the two valves.

Yes when we remove the adaptor we get gas released under pressure, definitely get your hands covered with gas. Use gloves!
