Have used Castle Montgri, but it was quite some time ago. It used to be a very good site, and have no reason to think its not now.

Lots, on and off, way back to VW splitty`s!
Castell Montgri looks like a static site only. My brother in law has booked for 2 weeks in May and we thought about taking the MH down but there doesn`t appear to be any facilities for tourers.

We stayed in Camping La Sirena.

Site right on the beach on the RH side of town. Noisy, poorly managed, did not like it at all.

Nice town but affected by the recession when we were there but still liked it.

I can't stand the place.

I have used a site just a tiny bit North at Montgo which is near L'Escala.

No kiss me quick hats, few English and lots of Spanish.:thumb:

I've looked at Camping Montgri, yes they hire bungalows and stuff but they also have 2 sorts of individual pitches, little uns, 75 sq m and big uns, 105 sq m ! Elec if you want it etc etc etc.
http://www.campingparks.com/cmontgri/
Just go on the website, Click the word Welcome (or Willkommen if you want it in German etc) and then click Accomodation and everything else you want to know.
Other campsites are available - eg
http://www.campingemporda.com/
http://www.campingter.com/
I haven't been to any of them, but there again last time I went camping on the Costa Brava was August 1976 - we went to Camping Cala Gogo at Playa de Aro and Palamos was a village with one bar .....

We've stayed on Camping Rifort 3 times. A friendly, family run site with excellent facilities about 15 mins. from the beach. Pitches aren't massive but we managed with a 6.5m van and 5m trailer plus safari room. If we are are in the area we will stay there again.

Here's a link http://www.campingrifort.com/ to Camping Rifort. I should have made it clear that it is within 15 mins walking distance of the beach and is in fact about 1/4 mile nearer than Castel Montgri which is a little further out of town on along the same road.
