Hi everyone, we are looking for a campsite in Essex, we may be moving there to be near to family and want to have a look around. We need a site that is dog friendly and has open space nearby for walking and if possible cycling off road.

We don't know the area and would welcome any advice.

What part of Essex you looking for?

If you're not club inmates then the only "nice" site I know is:

Mill House at Little Baddow. 51.74645, 0.54879.
01245 464060. £11 incl ehu but no toilet or shower facilities. Fresh and dump water as per CL/CS. 20 pitches and popular.
Right on Chelmer Canal.

Camping and caravan sites are pretty numerous have good facilities and allow dogs for free (I'm sure caravan club sites, are the same) there is also a good search facility at ukcampsite.co.uk

Essex is a big place, and there are many great sites including CL/CS ones...

If you can give a smaller search area, I'll be able to give you a better steer....

Thanks for the replies. We are not sure where to go, didn't know cc clubs don't charge for dogs, will probably join. Which is the best? We have a daughter in Enfield and want to move closer, so we want to have a few weekends to check out possibilities.
