We are looking to order a 150 auto transmission motor home, does anyone know if we ordered the 2.8 version would there be a big cost penalty as far as mpg is concerned?

Assume you are talking about the 2.3 Fiat, consumption not much different, between 130 & 150 and if it's a heavy van will probably be better on the 150. A few quid in fuel not worth worrying about when spending probably upwards of 50K.

I assume that you are referring to a new motorhome? In that case Fiat do not do a 2.8L and haven't for a while. They do a 3.0L, or used to, because I think they may have just dropped that and replaced it with a higher powered 2.3L.

I have the 3L automatic on my Hymer and find it excellent. Fuel consumption not much less than my previous 2.3L manual. Impressive considering it is hauling a ton more weight.

Thanks for the help. Yes, I was looking at the 2.8l fiat, when now it is Infact a 3l multi jet. To be more specific, this would be in a new hobby, knaus, burstner, dethleffs or hymer motor home, with the upgraded chassis, and 16 inch wheels. I was looking for a comparison between the 150 comfortmatic and the 177 comfortmatic.

I have the 3 litre and I wouldn't swap it. I believe it is going to be discontinued so could be the last chance.
It also has a camchain so no need to consider the ritual cam belt change
