Hi is there anyone on here that has changed a Hymer Mercedes engine for a ssangyong engine?

I thought ssangyong were Mercedes engines

They are I just wondered if anyone had put one into a Hymer to replace the original

Ssangyong engines are made under licence from Mercedes and are not made by Mercedes.....there are differences which may make it incompatible.

hya one of my friends had the sangyong non turbo engine put into his old hymer..it was a bit of a task having to change..sump timing cover etc he's happy with it but the person who did the work said he wouldn't do another one

We have managed to find a guy who is willing to re-build our engine after calling 5 garages but they can do it

Something went wrong with when we bought it then it's been at a garage waiting to find out what's wrong with and whilst it's been sitting for 2 weeks it's ceased but the new garage are positive they can fix it. She should be running by the end of August as they can't start it until 03/08/15
