If the lights and fridge are working on 240v then the fault could be with the Hoover. Are you sure you are fully trained in its use? :D

All I know is that it's a complex piece of machinery that I'd never attempt to use, I know my level.

Does the hoover work when plugged in - in your house ?

Has the fuse in the hoover plug blown ?

hover works in the house, i just dont understand the sparlks on the MH yet, the guy did show me and all worked well,
i sailed the world even the Bermuda Triangle navigated the Westen coast of Australia in a yacht, even lost a man overboard in a gale and got him back safe, but the hover has me stumped, or should i say the sparks on the MH has me confused

    Check:
    1. that the consumer unit in the van is on (i.e.not tripped/turned off).
    2. that the switch on the house socket is on.
    3. that another appliance (e.g. table lamp) works from the mains socket when on EHU.
    4. that the EHU cable is wired up properly.

ok its fixed the guy over the road has a motor home i asked him before reading this reply, i had forgot to turn the mail power breaker on in the motor home "DOH" thanks all for your replies, so your right GJH the consumer unit was in the off position lol, i will always remember the look in the guys eyes from over the road when he switched the unit on, well after all he was a Rolls Royce commercial Engine designer, he looked at me like he had stood in something not so nice and unpleasant to smell

Put the hoover back and deny everything. Don't forget to add a bit of surprise and concern to make the act more plausible.
