Hi keith,

Most likely a load of road crud underneath but if no joy give our Service Manager Glenn Harris a ring, he will point you in the right direction I am sure.

Regards

As peter said from J/ cross more than likely road crud jamming it, mine was... clean it off and put a few blobs of light oil or some grease on the pivot points, voila..... don.t use wd40 as it don't last long enough.:thumb:

hi 2004.steps clean no dirt

Ok then , it has a plate attached to one side, linked to the motorarm actuator.. quite easy to remove two small bolts, if you remove it you should be able to manually fold up the step (thats what its designed for) if it folds up ok then at least you know the step is fine ie not jammed.
That then points to the electric side, could be a supply from the fuse side , motor fault, ...should of asked you can you hear the motor running when you press the button. ??
Have a look here in the link it's poss one of these models..

Hi Keith

The step on our Lunar (Fiat) stopped working with the step out. All sorts were checked and it turned out to be the switch. Ours is the one touch type.

Help

Hi Keith,

Read about your steps.Ours was working fine but for some reason like yours
has stopped working.Checked all fuses,no dirt underneath, and hubby oiled it.

Did you get to find out what the problem was.We have a Bessacarr E725 on a Fiat chassis
so am interested to find out from you if you got it sorted?

Regards,
Mo

Kieth both the fuse and relay for your model and year are located under the bonnet, roughly in the centre there will be a black plastic cover , they are both there.

Electric Step Problem

Hi
just to let you all know, my Electric Step problem was the switch.A wire had come adrift and so would not work.It was great to get it fixed and working again

Cheers,
Mo :thumb:
