electric step (1 Viewer)

Fiat Mondial - my electric step works ok on manual switch but has ceased to return inward when engine switched on. Always worked ok 'til now. Anyone know how the step senses when the engine is switched on to save driving off with it outward as I did on one recent ocassion ? Heavens, I could have taken a pedistrians legs off !

Hi Reg

I believe that the step is actuated by a micro switch located somewhere on the step itself. Locate the switch and give it a good clean, they are prone to getting clogged up with road dirt. Hopefully this will sort your problem.

Hi,

I believe it is activated via a relay that on my Ducato 2004/5 can be found under a Black plastic cover situated in the middle of the engine compartment, which can be removed by undoing 2 small nuts and unclipping a small rubber pipe from the front of the cover,
