Can anyone give some advice about electric fans for MH. Thought it might be good idea to get one either for here if good weather ever arrives or for when we go to France later this year. Have looked on web to see if there are any specific for the MH market but can't see any - is this because its not a good idea or because any domestic fan would suffice? Any advice would be appreciated

I have had 2 X 12volt fans fitted on all my motorhomes. If you get the reversible ones or put a polarity switch in line they can be used for quick demisting. These work well whilst driving. I did carry a household fan when long terming in Spain, but dont bother since having the airco.

if you mean for general cooling when pitched then a 230v 12" desk fan will do fine...preferably an oscillating one.

We used one in Spain to very good effect....just left it turned on day and nigh when we were in in the van.

Wont physically make it any cooler but moving air will always feel cooler than still air.

Try placing a small bowl of cold water in front of the fan....it does chill the air a little as the water evaporates.

There are 12V fans available and one in particular, the "Endless Breeze" is often commented on as being very good. However, it is made in the USA and over here costs around £80. It is made by the same company as the "Fantastic" fan / roof vent - also very good by all accounts.

We use a cheap oscillating desk fan powered by a 150W inverter. They do not draw much current (30W) and are very cheap to buy. In summer in France and Italy it has been well worth finding room for.

we used to have some electric fans on here.

Nowadays though, most are more "metal fans" although there's still a few sinatra fans about

in some clubs, Electric is really making a comeback :thumb:
