As originally supplied the gear mechanism for opening uses plastic cog wheels. These wear quickly and the operating winder starts to slip. Ours would not close fully as a result and in a worse case scenario it would fail to close at all. A metal replacement gear is available under warranty. We noticed ours was not fully shut by excessive wind noise when driving.

That's good to know. The gear mechanism on my Accordo 105 has been slipping since just after new. Will try for a metal replacement before the warranty expires!
