Had a recent problem with a hitherto perfectly functioning panel.

When connecting to EHU does panel go into "overload" mode and shutdown? Now that we are off EHU panel seems to be back to normal. Should we switch off at control panel before hooking up........ or just leave it be?

Regards, Bryan

Test each circuit independently!

I would switch everything off, reconnect to EHU.

Switch each item on one at a time and see what happens. If it runs ok switch it off and try another circuit.

Hopefully you will be able to isolate what item is giving the problem. :thumb::thumb:

Here is promised picture of our solar panel controller.

At present top two green lights on left are on, the first is constant (Sun) the other blinking slowly (Bat).
On extreme right, square LED is constant RED, this is the ON/OFF display light under which is push button for ON/OFF function and when pushed, Red light goes off but others remain as described. Guessing that RED light on, means panel is off as we are at present on EHU.
If that is the case then controller switches off automatically when we connect to EHU, I never touched it ......... promise !:roflmto:

All electrics working OK, and batteries charging, but they would as we are hooked up

Puzzling.

Is it a Victron energy BlueSolar?

Depending on the model the link above may assist.

3. LED INDICATORS
Green LED is ON when solar is charging the battery.
In case of system over voltage the green LED blinks
.
Green LED is ON when the battery voltage is in the
right range.
Green LED is slowly flashing when the battery is fu
lly charged.
Yellow LED is ON when the battery voltage is low.
Red LED is ON when the load is cut off.
In case of overload the red LED is slowly flashing
(The load current is 1.25 times of rated current fo
r 60 seconds, or
the load current is 1.5 times of rated current for
5 seconds)
Red LED is fast flashing in case of short-circuits.
Red LED is ON when the push button is ON.
Red LED is OFF when the push button is OFF

It is Victron Energy Blue Power. Will follow link and have a read through.

Nobody has addressed my question so far.

When connected to EHU does controller detect "overload" or "surge" and shutdown causing the RED light to remain on constant ?

My booklet, just discovered today says "Red LED is ON when load is cut off"
Does that answer my own question that controller shuts panel down when detecting EHU.

Sorry to be a bore guys, particularly when everything works OK, Just curious why controller is off.

Many thanks

Bryan
