Caravan since 1970, motorhome or RV since 1999 then back to a caravan in 2017.
There is an excellent site within walking distance that gets you a discount on entry fee to Eden Project that is much cheaper with Tesco vouchers. Search for doubletrees.

We actually store our MH at a campsite very near Eden Project, but on my way up there from home in Probus I have seen motorhomes parked overnight in a large lay-by on a road which runs parallel to the A30, accessible from either the Eden Project exit or the one south of that, the Roche/Victoria services exit.

There is also a large lay-by at the bottom of our village which is frequently used for overnighting by motorhomes and although you will be 12 miles from Eden, you would be very central for anywhere else you wanted to visit in Cornwall and only 4 miles out of Truro.

WE used Doubletrees last Month to visit the Eden Project, excellent site, with a handful of hard-standings, Mostly Grass, good facilities, and excellent Owners . Eden Project is a 5 min Drive (for us) turn right out of the gate, and doubtless if you where fit it could be a nice ramble!.

"off road" layby here:- 50.386869, -4.699948 have seen MoHo`s in there.

We were at Doubletrees last month for a week before we came to Spain. We use it every year for at least 2 visits. Excellent site and as has been said - great owners. Eden Project walkable and you'll get a discount for not using a car to get there! The other option is either of the 2 Britstops in the area. Can recommend both!

+ 1 for Doubletrees. I think its ÂŁ16 a night all year round. Washrooms are lovely and the view over St Austell Bay is worth the money on its own.

This sounds good, roughly how far would you say it is please, as I struggle to walk very far?

Double trees is roughly about 1-2 mile from The Eden Project. If you have mobility issues you can HIRE (Free?) mobility scooters by Booking them. (my party had 3 of their own) be warned there is a LOT of walking much of which is not level, it is all hard paved, with a variety of surfaces, On site food is OK but not exactly cheap!. However, overall I found it to be a most interesting exercise (pun intended, I walked the whole thing!), and was well ready for my Beer come 5pm!. The 4 Lords (Turn left onto A390) has good ale and does food (though the kitchens where closed for a refurb; when we where there). We ate 3 times at the Holmbush Inn, OK, typical Modern Pub Fare but value IMHO. (Turn right onto A390, if you get to the Tesco, you have passed it). BTW if you go to Charlestown, It is where some of the current series of "Poldark" was filmed, (one for the ladies!).
