Just received by recorded delivery a recall notice from Fiat regarding an "ECU software update to prevent engine failure warning light being illuminated and possible loss of power from engine"

Anyone else had the same or any prior knowledge of the recall.

Just had mine in my local Fiat garage for its annual service and a recall wasn't mentioned so maybe it was only for certain chassis numbers.

when i got my new van last March i heard on the grape vine about this ECU situation. in late April before shooting off to France i looked up my chassis on the Fiat camper site ( which we can most of us do ) and it advised a NON URGENT ECU update. but not compulsory ( at that time ).

i struggled to find a Fiat agent who Knew what i was talking about then i got onto the Fiat commercial garage in Cardiff and they did it. took about an hour.

I spoke with the service dept at “Stormonts” last week with ref to this recall and all can say is what is on the notice “ECU software update to prevent engine failure warning light being illuminated and possible loss of power from engine", the customer can wait for their van while we do it as it only takes 30 minutes.

Had a similar re-call early last year on our Peugeot X250. Quickly sorted.
