I spotted a post about the option of toll or non-toll through France. Over the years this is what I have figured out.
1 Rouen can take hours to get round so use the toll round it
2 Avoid tolls until just north of Tours then get on.
3. Stay on toll until just south of Poitiers then get off.
4 Avoid tolls for rest of trip.
5 If you are passing through Chartres or Orleans do it very early morning.
This keeps cost down to a minimum and gets you there pretty sharpish.
