Away at the moment in lovely Aldeburgh. For the second time in two days the ec200 has started making a high pitched. Whistling noise and the control panel freezes completely. Following manual instructions and unscrewing unit and disconnecting, leaving for 30 seconds seems do do the trick. Would anyone have any idea as to why it's doing this?

Sorry can't help but if you give Sargent a ring on Monday their technical support is very good.

Only a suggestion but maybe overheating and the noise is from the cooling fan on the powers supply..
It could be as simple as a spray with a light lubricant or switch cleaner from Maplins on the centre spindle of the fan / motor if you can get to it...
But as suggested call Sargent on Monday, very helpful. However I suspect it will be a return for repair / swop over job.

If it is the fan, CPC sell them at about £6 including postage. I fitted one to my old van as the noise became really irritating. Very easy to fit if you solder the leads to the original ones so the plug fits.

Thank all for your ideas. It's appreciated. I think sergeants might be the first port of call.
