this isn't really a how to , but my heater has been in the van for about 3 yrs now and I thought it was time I gave it a service... took some pictures while doing it and will try and post a few, and any comments that may be relevant.... might help someone ..
20150324_125126.jpg the items that you get with the service kit. combustion chamber to water jacket seal, burner /combustion chamber gaskets, glow plug seals and screen, pump filter, and some water jacket o rings.
20150323_113541.jpg the heater removed from van
20150323_122626.jpg top covers removed showing fuel pump on right , inlet and outlet housing with water pump (the bit with the blue label)
20150323_124335.jpg fuel pump removed showing gauze filter housing.
20150323_125218.jpg temp and overheat sensors location in water jacket (red and blue wires)
20150323_125330.jpg glow plug and flame sensing probe , with air fan motor
20150323_125748.jpg showing burner and combustion chamber
20150324_103032.jpg combustion chamber removal from water jacket
20150323_141842.jpg showing removed glow plug and screen, and flame sensing pin...

the most awkward part was the removal of the glow plug and flame sensing terminals from the block connector.. which you have to do to remove them.. there are tools available to do the job but had to make do with bent paper clips :) ..a right carry on I had but got there in end.
only other thing that comes to mind is that the glow plug screen has to be inserted with its jointed /welded side away from the fuel inlet port... if you do the job you will follow what im on about when you get look,
detailed instructions can be found with a quick google and there are youtube vids as well..
hope it helps ..

Hi Andy

Nice job, did it actually ail anything once you got inside.

And if you can edit the title it might be a good idea.

hi martin, (if I remember correctly ) thanks ,
it was still very clean inside and im sure could have been left a fair while without needing any work, but you live and learn lol...

if I knew how I would correct that but I don't :) . perhaps someone could tell me how ...

Hi Andy

Martin is right, but the clue was in my signature strip(y)

I know you can edit the post but not sure about the tile, it will be too late now anyway I imagine as there is a time limit.

I don't see the signature strips , will have to go have a look at my settings sometime.
yes I don't know what the time limit for an edit is, but as you say too late now, thanks anyway
