Off to cycle the Monsal trail and hope to sample some Bakewell pudding at the end of March

Any suggestions of good sites in Derbyshire around this area?

Also, a must ride is round Carsington Water, also has a nearby campsite, or we just drove their from Callowtop.

    Oops, just realised, wrong trail.

Wandering around that area a lot I see both one after another and being old and confused group them together. When I was planning taking a relative on the Tissington trail I quickly looked for a way to do Monsal as well and did not come up with an answer, does not mean there is not one. I did see a very low bridge that I noted as a problem in a MH.

There isn't a direct link onto the Monsal Trail from the Tissington Trail - in fact they are separated by quite some way (and a couple of big hills :D)

From this end of Derbyshire, The Monsal Trail can really only be accessed from Bakewell (the beginning or the end depending ???) and midway to Monsal Head at Hassop Train Station.
