Using Svtech I Uprated to 3850 from 3500 with 4 mths left on Tax disc, received new tax disc (£165 private heavy goods) and other paperwork, they say the V5 will follow.

My question is ....... How do they give you the difference owing For tax disc difference?

Tried ringing and got .....sorry all 240 phone lines are busy :Eeek:

Anyway of contacting via email or?

I took all my paperwork to the local office and they taxed it under new class and told me how much rebate I'd get and two weeks later cheque came through the post.

dont push it....you are in pocket by at least £92.

But....the phgv disc is not a replacement with the same expiry date....its a completely new disc running for 12 months
Unless they changed the rules when local offices closed...which i doubt very much.

You say there was just 4 months remaining on the private light goods tax disc.

Then only 4 months, full months only, will be refunded which equates to £73.

You say you have paid nothing for the phgv tax disc which costs £165.
Even if they dont send a refund you are still £92 in profit.

They should have charged £165 for a new phgv disc at the time of issue and deducted the remaining months on the old disc, £73, from the £165.....meaning you owe them £92.

Once they realise their mistake you WILL get a bill.

there seems a bit of confusion over just what is needed.

When i did the kontiki, or should i say corrected the registering dealers cock up, and upgraded to its correct weight of 3850kg i took all the normal docs...V5, old disc, mot, insurance, wedding certificate, City and guilds cert, dog licence, list of breakfast ingredients etc (you never knew what they may ask for)....and got a cert of conformity from Alko via Swifts.(FOC :Eeek:)
I think without the cert of conformity it could have held things up..

Got the cert with last two Swifts from new John, when I tried to do the Bolero in 2008 Swift said voided their warranty, that was from Kathy remember her?

Tried to find how to do the Swift but ovule only find

    https://www.gov.uk/specialist-tests-for-lorries/change-the-weight-you-can-carry

This uprate I had to have Air-ride fitted to get to 3850 not woth the new wheels to get slightly more......costly.

Down rate may be easier but not sure?
