    Hi
If you are driving from Trieste to Croatia, do you need to go through Slovenia?
If you do, do you need to go on a motorway?
Do you need a vignette or can you pay the toll on a machine?
Where would you get a vignette and would you be able to pay in euros?
Sorry to be a bit thick, but this is our first time driving to Croatia.
    Hope somebody can help.
    Thanks
    Jan

Jan, you don't need to go on the Motorway from Trieste to Porec so don't need a vignette. Once in Croatia you can go on the motorway (recommended) or follow the coast road to Porec. The tolls can be paid at toll booth, they are only a few euros for that stretch.

Thanks for that. Do you happen to know the road number from Trieste to Croatia?
Is it the coastal roa, if so is it ok for campervan?
    Thanks.

Can't remember the road number but it was the road signposted to Koper. It was a decent road for Motorhomes, mine is a 4500kg tag axle Autotrail and didn't have any problems.

We found the Dalmatian coast to be absolutely stunning. However, evidence of the civil war is still to be seen all over Croatia, Bosnia Hertzagovina, Montenegro. Lovely people, even if they do still dislike each other.... Toby and Suzy.
