hi and welcome. :thumb: i am sure you will get a lot of advice and comments on the awning. but this is the million dollar question:Eeek: awnings are one of the things that are of personal choice and i will guarentee that you are unlikely to get it right first time... or at least thats my experience:Doh:.

i have tried a few including a driveaway ( dindnt like it and it did not suit us ) it takes a bit longer to put up as it is a stand alone tent in effect... and assumes you will stay in one place for a while.

i now use a Kampa Motor Rally 260 but only during the wet months ( often in uK:ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:) and if we a staying for at least 3 nights. during the summer we use the wind out only.

good luck in your quest.:thumb:

I recently bought a stand alone day tent, cheaper than an awning, same size, easier to drive away from and return to.

Absolute rip off - bought a drive away awning, set it up and then fancied going out for a tour.

Everyone sat in the awning, and then we realised there was no engine, wheels or anything:ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

We've got an outdoor revolution movelite XL family which has two sleeping areas as well. We use it when we're away for a while and means we can leave all the outdoor things on pitch if we go out for the day in the van. Also keeps your pitch.

One thing with a tent is that they are generally cheaper, but many sites will try to charge you a lot extra for a tent, but include an awning in the pitch price. Ripping off us motorhomers again!

Also have a Movelite XL Family with two sleeping areas.
Bought it for my son but he never used the van.
This has never been out of the bag, brand new. Open to offers.
New price from a dealer is, I believe, about £300.
Peter can maybe give the new price.
