20 years (unless you count my dads VW which makes it 52 years with a few gaps!!)
probably not and its normally cheaper to buy a new drill than replacement batteries. There are a couple of sites that do replacements and I also found this, but no idea if it is viable

That was pretty good, he said all the right things, especially the danger.

That toggle switch was plain stupid, won't last a week.

You also need cheap donor batteries and an expensive RC model charger which is not suitable for everyday work.

But as shown it would work.

When that video finished it linked to this which is even more workable:

For me it would mean scorched skin followed by a big BANG.

If it's got new style battery's , I've heard they don't like charge in a cold place like a shed.

I have a couple of De Walt drills, 12volt and 18volt. I can buy a new De Walt, with two new batteries, plus charger, for less then the price of two replacement batteries.......

Exactly as i do.

18v dewalt basic hammer drill/driver, two batteries (1.3ah ni-cad) charger and case........£87 at B&Q
