Oooooh , Jim, 6 metres! Squash,squash.
What about the clothes storage? I remember Sian saying she had spare swim togs in the RV. Where to put with only 6mtr?
An A class cab feels spacious but some coachbuilds feel claustrophobic in the cab...
An A class with fixed bed/ rear lounge with pull down bed like our original Frankia is the ideal for us.
Will be interested to see what you choose.

Looked at a dethleffs globebus which was a nice little thing. Might be a little too small for you maybe, although an a-class, was only around 21ft long. End lounge/double, overcab pull down and single in the middle - quite a bit of space inside!

'Garage' space was up to much, being quite low (more like a long locker) - but a small sacrifice!

All excited

Well I am just about to pick up our new (very old) Motorhome.
We managed to stay under 6m, which was the main aim. almost 5m shorter than our RV

We have 2 double beds and a Single, so that is the same as the RV

We have 6 belts, 4 proper 3-point belted seats two more than the RV

We have a sofa and dinette, and a couple of swivel captains chairs - The same as the RV

We have= a good payload but about a ton less than the RV

Our engine is much smaller than the RV a 5.3lL engine size reduction

We should get about 18 extra miles to the gallon than the RV

Should be back around 7pm, behave yourselves while i'm away::bigsmile:

and now 7mtr Hymer A class.
You'll have to measure it again Rory. :winky:

I was about to ask, why only 6mtr Jim, but you'll have left by now, and done the deal.

I hope it meets all your requirements, and it is what you are looking for. Looking forwards to seeing some piccies. :thumb:

Cheers,

Jock.

Been there Doberman it, gotthe tee shirt

Or as sun shades .. like many did with us in France ... especially in supermarket car parks..

we would park as far away from the main door as possible, do our shopping , usually a big stock -up, full trolley .. come back to find some tosser had parked up hard against the hab door ... leaving no space for the trolley ..

Empty French car park .. Lido.. Parked way at back of car park long ways across a Hals dozen bays as I have the trailer attached.. A good couple hundred empty parking bays.. Five minutes afterci pull up I have two cars parked cross my front.. I am in the cab ..engine running while Sue in store... Car park still empty.. No sense it seems.

Now that sounds good Buttons.. What mpg are you aiming for? I hear there are some vw's that can do 88 mpg.. Well someone on here said it was 66 mpg.. But I am sure he was wrong:Blush:... I am sure you would know:ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

So you fancy a yank then.. Think of all the savings of hotel rooms you would not have to pay for.

Hi novawight, Yes I am indeed fond of the California but I would never talk about it on here. I like to keep its unbelievable economy and the fact that it will sleep 4 with 5 fully belted seats has diesel heating, 12v compressor fridge, climate control sports car performance comfort and the fact that it will easily get under any height barrier. Yes I like to keep that to myself.:roflmto:
You know what they are like on here, only too ready to condemn anything that does over 10mpg.
We will have to find a quiet corner somewhere and talk VWs:youbetcha:
