Don Madge
Deceased RIP
Morning all,
I lifted the following from the Out & About forum.
Thanks to Derek Uzzell for this info.
Don
"A warning notice from Dometic was published in the August/September issue of the French motorhome magazine "Camping -Car". This notice said that, since July 2006, a recall exercise had been operating relating to specific Dometic appliances manufactured from 2005-onwards.
The appliances involved were:
1. The Tec Tower combination fridge/oven - Identifier RMT XXXX (which presumably means all models) and Serial Numbers below 628 0001.
2. Certain Cramer ovens - Model-type CMBO and Serial Numbers below 629 62838.
Only the above identification details were provided: nothing was said about why these appliances needed to be recalled or what modifications/checks needed to be made.
I don't recall seeing anything about this in the UK motorhome press, but it seems reasonable to assume that the recall does not apply merely to Dometic appliances marketed in France. Consequently, if you've got an appliance that meets the recall criteria and you haven't already been contacted about it, you might want to get in touch with a UK Dometic agent to check if it needs attention.
