Dometic Fridge (1 Viewer)

Hi all,
My Dometic fridge is not getting cold. I have set it to the coldest setting and left it for 24 hours. Still not cold. Having removed the vent I can feel the heat exchanger is quite warm, so the fridge is trying to cool. Can the fridge be re-gassed? Does this sound like it could be the problem. Does anyone know of an engineer in the Bradford, Skipton area?

Should be getting noticeably cold within the hour.
Mine is two years old this august and finally getting a new cooling unit fitted this week as it has always been on maximum cooling and never achieved the desired effect.
Dometic engineers are scarce for warranty issues. I am using JMR caravan services under warranty. They cover our area

Are you running it on gas? and is it the same on mains?

Tried it on gas and 240 doesn't seem to make any difference.

Wakefield has an engineer too but he was too busy to see mine.
I dread to think of the cost if outside of warranty

There is no means to regass, but a fridge engineer may be able to install filling valves.
if it has leaked there should be a yellow powdery/crystaline substance behind the inspection vent of the fridge

Another "favourite" trick is remove the fridge and turn upside down for a few hours.
this has the effect of remixing the gas and carrier medium which seperate and settle at the bottom of the coolant pipework.

Time consuming but worth a try before spending big bucks

Thanks for the replies so far. I think it may be another trip back to the dealer I bought it from. I have only had the Motorhome for a month and it has already been back once. They did sort out the problem last time though. I have not used it yet. This is starting to become very annoying.
