Our steam mop is brilliant on the kitchen tiles, has anyone tried it on GRP van roof and walls? Apologies if this has already been flogged to death.

I've never seen that question asked before.

A serious failure mode of GRP is water ingress into tiny voids. Hit that with steam and it may come out in a rash, as can happen in hot sun, though sun is probably less dangerous because it will warm the water and give it time to vent.

If there was a Darwin award for MH questions this would win!!!!

Only kidding! ;)

I can understand your thinking but it would likely do a LOT of damage to your MH in the process so please DO NOT try it.

We often use our steam mop with the towel attachment to clean our MH floor.

We also use the mini mop attachment to clean the inside of the windscreen.

Personally I wouldn't use on the roof without asking the MH manufacturer.

not so newbie anymore - since 2016
I work with GRP pretty much daily and would never recommend using steam on the gelcoat due to the fact it can cause the tiny air bubbles trapped in the gel to expand and burst open.

I will admit that nowadays with vacuum infusion and resin transfer techniques that risk is almost cancelled out but I very much doubt that vacuum infusion or resin transfer will have been used to manufacture motorhome sides due to time and cost.

My question would be, what is it that you are trying to achieve by considering using a steam mop?

If it is to get rid of green algae, road film, water stains or bird chalk then there are much better ways than steam!
