When 18 years old the chat used to be -- " Ha , i had 8 pints last night and 6 the night before"

Nowadays , I see neighbours trying to bury the booze bottles in the waste boxes under milk cartons :ROFLMAO:

Puzzled- ----Ashamed of showing they drink at all:Eeek: or too much :ROFLMAO:

For a long, long time many, many Brits abuse alcohol and boast about it.

I feel this culture has permeated into large sections of the population.

Look at the UK town centres on a weekend evening.

Listen to the people speak... "what a night I had... I got SO drunk!"

Read posts on here... :winky:

Of course people all over the world drink but Brits seem to worship it...

To quote Al Murray, I am not saying it's wrong... It's just the way it is...

Many foreigners look down on the Brits as a bunch of pitiful drunks.

Since April 1846 but have always camped.
Arrived at Calais ferry recently at 07:30hrs. Two foreign lorry drivers ahead of me ordered double espressos and double whiskies! That means they are coming into our country already drunk!!

It threw me a little when I had an appointment recently with a rather eccentric neurologist - part of his general questioning was "do you drink more than your doctor?" Quick answer was "not a chance"

Going back to when the tottenham riots occurred police advice was

a) keep bottles indoors until the day of collection and make sure they go to the bottom of the bin so they are not easily accessed.

This was to prevent easy access to bottles for the purposes of making petrol bombs and using them as other weapons.

There`s a German landlord of a local pub near here.

He says, " we will win next time, we will bomb all the pubs first"

Doesn't bother me, I normally have two or three pints most nights after work and often a few more on a weekend, don't care who knows, as for that German landlord you should tell him that in the long run they more or less won the last one

I do get a bit shocked by the state of the recycling bin some weeks:Blush:

I just lay a lot of milk cartons on the top.::bigsmile:

The give away though is the crashing noise when the bin is loaded into the lorry.
