Far ,far easier to let someone who knows what they are doing sort it out in a couple of hours. ::bigsmile:
Mike.

But if you persevere and anything need fixing or changing you aren't stuck in the middle of Europe.

So what if you take 4 hours and they take 2. What also happens is "DING" I can improve that at the same time.

I stand by what I said, there is always a risk of failure if you don't use a pro

Who put sour milk on your cornflakes this morning ?

FUN and The Dark Side are FULL of threads where we have been let down by "Pros".

A burned out Smart good enough for you ?

Leaking van repaired every year ?

Gas fitted in a dangerous way - if heard the whisper right this was two of our pros calling each other ( but I forget the details ).

Tomorrow I suggest you smell the milk before pouring on cornflakes.

Indeed there are good and bad pro's, thats why I asked a few friends on here as to who they had used and Mark was one name that cam up time and time again.

If I get let down, by anyone, then I will take the appropriate action, thats why I also always use section 75 of the CCA 1974.

Cornflakes, dont think so...

Final on DIY or workshop

DIY or workshop certainly prompted a lively debate..... thanks to all for your opinions and past experiences.
A brief analysis would convey the following;
You have the money and don't mind paying for the expertise with the security of some comeback.
You have the money and would love to DIY but don't have the capabilities or confidence.
You have the money and don't care what it costs.
You have the money and either love or hate Ebay
OR
You don't have the money and would love to have it done by someone.
You don't have the money but are determined to get it and DIY.
You don't have the money and either love or hate Ebay
Which ever category you place yourself in it is academic, the most important part is you have disseminated your experiences and choices for all different reasons.
The reason I went the Ebay UK route was because here in southern Spain somes trades are questionable putting it kindly. Also for some reason Ebay Spain is far more expensive than the UK Ebay even taking into account the postage from UK.
All fitted now, no big issues, pretty straight forward really.
For aspiring DIY'er without the money or the frustrated DIY'er with the money, remember;
“The greatest mistake you can make in life is to be continually fearing you will make one.”
Long Live Ebay and Paypal with it's customer support and guarantees.
and just of topic;
“A little sincerity is a dangerous thing, and a great deal of it is absolutely fatal”

Hell, I prefer your fortune cookies to shifty's cornflakes and sour milk.

Mine said "he who never makes a mistake makes nothing".

Off topic! :roflmto:
You do get a second chance but from only 800 feet its unlikely you'd get the reserve open as by the time you realised the main was a duffer you'd be too low to say goodbye
