I am clearing up the 'office' and I have a number of small hard drives, 1, 2 gig, I cant see anything of importance on them, I know that I can format them, but is there a 'free' disk shredder that is any good?

Place goggles on head. Place steel toe-cap shoes on feet. Place hard drive on concrete. Drop gert big heavy sledgehammer on hard drive.

Does the job and gives more satisfaction than mere software :thumb:

Mortar chisel and lump hammer does the job. Unless you want to recycle/reuse them.

There are free downloadable linux disks with disk wiping utilities. They write random data multiple times over the entire disk. No chance of recovery then:thumb:
