The Statement...

"Off Site Motorhomers have more adventures and [HI]meet a wider range of people[/HI] than those staying on camp sites."

What do you think?

JJ

I think you are making the assumption that we all want to JJ ....

personally, we go away to get away .. the fewer people we see the better
.. so

...........busy camps sites

.... quiet CLs :thumb:

....sites with clubs/bars

.... quiet aires :thumb:

.... busy aires

..... lonely wild spot :thumb:

..... busy car park / sea front

..... busy wild spot

I see no correlation between sites and off site camping JJ , it's what we want to do or be that counts and where we can find it.. be that site or off-site

we are all different.. I like quiet.. some like busy .. horses for courses

But surely there are many more people to meet than those who are in motorhomes... or tuggers...

I suspect few locals wander though campsites and chat with the "residents."

JJ

Surprisingly enough, people who use campsites actually have legs, bikes & cars which we - guess what - use to leave the campsite on a regular basis to mix with the local population.

It is not the number that counts, it is the type and quality of the people who you meet. Personally I prefer sites. The people you meet on sites have a sense of fun and a lack of thriftiness. :winky:
I love fishing and this post is definately fishing, ok so you got a bite, what is wrong with being thifty, I was always told to look after the pennies and the pounds will look after themselves. (not that they have!) #As for a sense of fun well you can have that anywhere but am guessing you need a sense of fun to use nowt but sites. :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

"Off Site Motorhomers have more adventures and meet a wider range of people than those staying on camp sites"

I disagree completely

We wave at every motorhome we pass on the motorways and roads.

We say hello to everyone when we stop a cafes, and conveniences to and from wherever we are going and say hello to whomever we meet.

For Halloween we were on a well known site, we organised motorhomers and caravanners for halloween trick or treat just by saying hello and do you fancy joining in

Thats not something you can do offsite without a lot of effort.

When we park "off site" we tend to find secluded locations for a little bit of "freedom in the country" bearing in mind we live in London.

And that "freedom" means we rarely meet people, if we do, its the occasional couple walking the dog or the occasional motorhomer who knows the secluded location.

We have gone on mass beach walks with people we have known less than 48 hours, we have taken people on night walks with torches not knowing where we will end up

but then we are game for alaugh and we are adventurers

and not everyone is like us
