Even in good light, my eyes took too long to adjust to the smaller Kilometre readings, so I devised a laminated easy read sticker, double sided taped in the binnacle....

I just set the GPS to read in kilometres. The speed it shows will in most situations be very accurate.

I have also set GPS to kilometres and in addition set the warning alarm if I go over speed limit.
