With all the goodwill messages I received from fellow Funsters, many of who were foolish enough to ask me to let them know how I was getting on, here is the link to my daily (well, nearly - depends on my mifi/wifi connection). As always, your comments and suggestions will be most welcome! Oh yes, trying to make comments on the blog itself I'm told is fraught with difficulty, so just add to this post if you can!

Have a good one, we were on the same ferry the night before - glad you noticed how clean we left it for you. :)

Pictures please and weather reports so we can work out where to avoid, or head for as appropriate!

Loved the first two days and the language doesn't seem to matter when both sides communicate and get there in the end !! Can't wait for the next instalment . Thankyou and enjoy!

We love reading about other people's travels, so thank you for writing your blog. Particularly pleased when names of camp sites or aires are mentioned. Hope the weather improves for you. Forecast says it will be much better in France by the weekend.

As a Solo myself - I will be keeping an eye on your progress.
As others have said - pictures

My comment/question is why not much eating out?
Is it to make the budget go further or you don't like a table for one?

I found the secret to eating out in France was the menu du jour at lunchtime. Get a lot of people eating on their own and quite often you can get chatting. Much better than the evenings when you do tend to stand out :D

I was just going to suggest that too. We eat at lunch time as you get more for your money and no pressure ! Language isn't usually a problem as tourist places often have English menus! Enjoy your trip!

Had one for 5 years many moons ago. Now starting again.
Great start to your travels and a good read.
Can I ask you please to drop a post here every time you add to the blog. It's a reminder to us that there's more to read as I can never remember to click on to blogs elsewhere. I blame senile decay but I've been blaming that for a lot of years - I'll be right one day.

My first night in France in the middle of an orchard! The rain came later, Scoot kept dry under the "scooter port"!

http://jonsfrance2016.blogspot.co.uk links you to my blog where you can die of boredom at your own leisure!

Hope you don't mind me saying but it does sometimes get windy in the night John, might damage your awning/MH, our awning is on the large side and that probably does make a difference but we had tie down straps on it too! It blew at 2am buckling an arm. Might be best to just have it out when you are sitting out.:) Put one side lower too to let the rain run off.

Thanks Granjan, awning secured and I never put it up when there's wind around - I've been caught out before! Another 160 miles of French greyness today; I hope the weather improves soon! Blog updated; thanks for putting up with my ramblings, but I sort of feel like I'm talking to you all - and now I'm going to have my first glass of wine this trip - very remiss of me!
