Thanks for that, didn't think there was a camping on board option, but thanks for letting me know. Going to book it today for next Wednesday so will check it out and let you know.

Don't know current price but we were there for 6 weeks a few months ago and diesel and lpg were very cheap especially after Italy.

in Sardinia at the mo, cheapest diesel I've seen is 1.18, most expensive 1.49! Heading to Croatia by ferry via mainland italy in May, hopefully it will be a lot cheaper there (y) ps i am getting the ferry to split, didn't see an option to stay in the MH onboard but i will if i can! reserved a sleeping chair rather than a cabin.

If anyone is heading to Croatia from Italy via Slovenia usually diesel is significantly cheaper in Slovenia than Croatia...

And loads cheaper than Italy...

Lots of Italians living close to the border buy their fuel in Slovenia...

Quite right and groceries in Lidl in Slovenia are substantially cheaper and don't use Konzum in Croatia you'll need an overdraft to pay the bill we only shopped there once never again:eek: back to good old Lidl.(y)

Yes...agree that Lidl is generally cheaper but Konzum has loads of Croatian things that we didn't see in Lidl..

eg.... very drinkable local Grasevina white wine in 3 litre boxes for about 40 Kuna [roughly £4!]

All down to what you buy I guess...:)

Hi All ,
We are planning a trip to Croatia for the whole of June entering from the top end. Have looked at many sites with varying reviews. We are a bit concerned that many give you an inferior pitch if you use an ACSI discount card. We would appreciate any recommendations. We are thinking of going as far as Split and getting the ferry back to Italy via Ancona. Is that a bit ambitious for the time we have?

We used ACSI for our visit to Croatia last year and the sites were really good, the only pitches you cant have are sea front pitches, the rest you can choose. This can take ages because some sites are so big. Plenty of small beautiful sites on the coast road, which is stunning in itself.

Spent 6 weeks there last year was never given inferior pitches and used ACSI everywhere. Some of the big sites had designated ACSI areas but certainly not sub standard. Only pitches we couldn't have were beach front as those were more expensive.
Do wonder who starts these dodgy stories sometimes and why.

I guess you just need to ask how much extra it would be for a beach side plot, if appropriate. :)
