brand new 15inch wheel and tyre from autotrial on ebay 105squid result:thumb: they take them off new vehicles to fit alloys Broken Link Removed

May be worth checking that the wheel bolts for a steel wheel are the same size as for Alloys. I bought a steel spare for my Merc based MH but needed bolts of different lengths.

The ones at Aldi were £4.99 for the pair

Aero blades are not the same, they are fitted to a lot of newer cars and vans, they look like these (and in fact these are even cheaper than Asda), there are no metal sprung-like backs to them and cost around £20 pair from main dealers..

Aldi blades are traditional style like these

Apparently these are immitations of the well know mirrorguard ! IGNORE the link

Yes but they are still mirror guards.

and these are mirror guards too...

Broken Link Removed

although you'd have to chop off the bracket to fit motorhomes with longer arms.

£50 for a mirror that is more visible Vs £130 for the market leader.

Just bought a used bike for €30.00. It's quite solid and I should get my money back when I sell it on before leaving Spain.

It's been 10 years since I rode a bike but it's true once you done it you never forget. Been for a bit of a ride today and my backside is now numb !

This maybe?

IMHO OK as a spare but they swapped the original tyre for a cheapo hence the price. Still a decent price :thumb:

I also got one from Autotrail eBay store, same price but was a Continental VancoCamper. I too was told they're taken off to fit alloys.
But from what I've seen on the forum since, these tyres won't pull you off a wet tissue.

11kg Gaslow refillable Cylinder

Hi everyone, I recently got what I think is a good deal with a 11kg Gaslow refillable cylinder no.1. £114 including vat from Hamilton Gas.

Broken Link Removed

Although the link is to cylinder 2, the no.1's are on the same page. They are shown as out of stock but you can add them to basket and pay at checkout. Mine arrived 3 days later, free delivery if you spend minimum £100 plus vat. I also got the Fill Kit £64. This must be better than buying one off fleabay second hand for £100+. :thumb:

Looks really good Mel. Did you do the research, is this the one in favour? I'd like to get wifey one perhaps as she's a bit unsteady on a pedal only bike.

Hi Techno

We've looked at various ones over the past couple of years or so (yes really!) but could never really justify getting them, however as hubby has a dicky hip, and now a dicky knee too which he had a lot of problem with last year in Germany and meant we couldn't use our bikes at all, we have looked into it again and have read up about quite a lot of them low to mid range ones and seen a few in the flesh too. Whilst at Newark show this weekend we were able to see several again so had a clearer idea of what we wanted. We also had a chat to Rex and Janet (ludo) who have the ones we have now bought and they love them ... as Rex is a .... er ... large ( ::bigsmile: ) chap we knew they'd be big enough for my hubby, who's not so 'large' but has long legs!

So after more research again at the competition we plumped for these, one thing that we like is that they are lighter than most, at only 15kg without the battery, 19kg with (most are around 19kg+battery, so 24kg+) it means that when we pedal them (no assistance) we're not having to cart extra weight around, they also will be easier to lift up/down form the bike rack and put less weight on it too. Also, as they have a narrow width when folded - about 15" - they'll go under our rear bed on their sides (although I'll be lifting the base up about 3 inches anyway to allow some air circulation under there as we get damp on top of the solid seat bases). They are 36v 10amp with 250w motors so will have more than enough oomph for what we intend to do with them (24v is way too small), have pedal assist and power only mode (with a proper twist throttle). Another considering is that the company has been trading for a long time, as they do mobility scooters etc, so you would expect them to know all about 'electric' propulsion equipment and be able to back them up and not, hopefully, go out of business as some of the newer, or more obscure firms could leaving a new purchaser out on a limb.

They'll be here on Monday so weather permitting we'll be giving them a try and I'll report back how we get on. One things for sure we will certainly use them both here and when on holiday, so that will be a good thing as it will encourage us to get out in the fresh air for more exercise! :thumb:

On and off for many years.
I was in our local Original Factory Shop today www.theoriginalfactoryshop.co.uk and they had the following items that might be of use to motorhomers:

Quest Multi-Function Cooker £20. It looked like a deep electric frying pan and said fry/bake/boil 1500w

12 litre halogen oven £35 1300w

1.8 litre slow cooker £15 (there were larger slow cookers as well)

Low fat fryer £49

Memory Foam mattress toppers King £48, double £40, single £28

All are on the shelves in our local store but not all are on the website.

In our local Lidl his morning - a pair of axle stands rated at 2000kg, were £9.99 reduced to £7.99. Only 4 sets left.

They also had the plastic type shoes for children and adults but i didn't notice the price as I already have several pairs of these. They are great in wet/muddy/dirty places as they are machine washable.
