Riveting viewing!
And all that, just to tell him he'd left his wallet at the chippy...

Well done to the cop. I also worried about no gloves, but in a very hot country...

But what do you do if you catch up & they DON'T give up? I mean, you can hardly knock him off the bike I'd have thought for most crimes. Is it then just a case of who runs out of fuel first?

Riveting viewing and respect for the determination shown by the cop to not give up. But you have to ask whether catching the guy was worth the risk to all the innocents that could have been injured at any time during the chase.

Jesus!, I'd have given up long before the end, also mightily concerned about the lack of gloves as well.

Yes lack of gloves, plus no arm protection, would have been plenty of jam on the road if one or both would have gone down.
However got to say both their perception was better than mine!!
Been riding all,my life and used to ride for the hospital with urgency but never would have taken some of the chances they did.
Great video though.

Oh dear.. Bloke posts a decent vid and the best some people can come up with is the rider has no gloves..
Like it or lump it there are people all over the world who sometimes ride without gloves..
Me, I usually wear gloves but on the other hand often ride in crocs, on my legs more or less never ride in anything bar jeans, if it is hot the jacket gets tucked away too.
I would rather ride cool and alert than hot sweaty and uncomfortable so not giving what I am doing full attention !

Yes, had my offs same as the greater % of riders who do big miles ( at one time in excess of 112,000 miles per year, year after year ).. and yup, lost skin and got my bruises .. Still ride the same..

@Enword , many thanks for posting a great vid :)

To be honest, I was seriously impressed at the tenacity and skill of the police motorcyclist and amazed at the determination of the chap trying to escape.

I wasn't sure of where the chase occurred. I thought I heard the expression cala boca ("shut up" in Portuguese)

Gloves or no gloves, that was gripping stuff

I think that's a bit unfair. (or have I missed the joke?)
A fair few of us mentioned it; personally I'm surprised that some sort of protection isn't a part of his uniform.
But nobody had nothing else to say.

Used to make me laugh years ago Austrian & German Motorcycle cops full leathers & all the kit looked like they were left over from the Gestapo, Italian Motorcycle cops open face helmets, short sleeve shirt's no gloves (image was every thing) & rode like nutters

Not making the comment in any other way than could see it all going tits up and would have been a mess, yes we have all done it but gloves now mandatory in France I believe.French cops still ride in shirtsleeves in summer.
My comment had nothing to do with the vid, which was incredible.
Just saying.

Let me just correct this one for you.. and COULD have killed him.
The footage was used in a cop 're-training' session and was never supposed to be released. It was titled the way it is to scare the crap outa riders who had to do the course set up for offenders

The shite is still hitting the fan over it getting on youtube with the same title..
