I'm wanting a place to stay as close to Goathland so I can do the Hardmoors marathon on November the 9th.

I'm struggling to find anywhere to stay even close by. Any ideas?

Hi Paul if you ask nicely you will be able to stay on Goathland train staion car park :thumb: You can also wild park in a couple of off road places on the way back to BlueBank---Whatever you do don't stop at the robbing Bs place Abbots farm :Eeek:
Theres also a nice farm about 5 miles Whitby side of Pickering -tenner a night with leccy and showers etc, I can find out the name if you want it but it's about 8 miles from Gothland, I simply pull into it so have no need for the name

The Fox and Rabbit Pub at lockton has a CL, about £8 a night but no EHU.
Next door at the Fox and Rabbit Farm is a CS, £12 with EHU.
Across the main road from the pub there is a sign for another CS.
If your travel north towards Goathland you pass at least two other CS's.

    Good Luck

The Lion inn at Blakey Ridge. Can stay in their car park and get a super meal in the evening.

I was looking for Goathland it'self TBH as I didn't fancy having to drive to the start of the race as parking is tight and I don't think the organisers will be too happy with me pulling up in a 27ft camper.. I was hoping to be closer enough to run to the start, run the marathon and then run back to the MH.

Looks like I may have no option accept to park there though, Im looking at the antique centre at Pickering for the night and then driving to the Goathland car park and leaving the bus in there for the day. :thumb:

    thanks everyone/
