Could someone please explain why on my laptop the MHFun icon is an 'orange ball', but on my PC it is a blue internet 'e' icon most of the time and occasionally the 'orange ball'. What causes it to change?

You should see our orange ball al the time. Are both copies of Explorer the same version?

Jim,
That could be the reason, laptop is ie7 and the PC is ie6. I still do not see why the icon changes from one to the other for no apparent reason on the PC.

Normally, web page links on a desktop appear as an "E" unless the page can access the net and record the favicon in the Temporary Internet Files on your PC where it will adopt the "facivon "(the orange ball in MHFun ). Should you wish, you can save the icon, and manually edit the properties of the desktop web link to show this all the time.

You need to retrieve and save the associated favicon from the Temporary
Internet Files before it gets deleted as older files are pushed out. Then
redirect the the shortcut using "change icon" in the shortcut properties to
the saved favicon.

Full hood and toggles job.....
