Hi,
The pimply surface on the outside roof of our motorhome (741) is coming away from whatever it was stuck to. This is the surface which you can climb onto and sit or stand on. We haven't done that but it is 6 years old and spends all its time outside.
Anybody any experience of this?

Hi,
The pimply surface on the outside roof of our motorhome

You mean like a mat ?

I know tarmac surfaces get water underneath then when the sun shines the water boils off and blows bubbles even in thick tarmac.

I'd be thinking of cutting a X open it up, let it dry and bond it back down.

Unless it looks worse than a simple fix.

Anyway, not something you can do for a good while yet.

if it is a rapido motorhome you are talking about i dont think the pimply surface on the roof is stuck to anything if you wash the roof with hot water you can see the roof expand it is very flexable i just think this is normal.:Eeek:

If it's a "rubber" roof you should be carefull what you do with it/put on it, the rubber is not too happy with any petroleom products.

Hi treflynman,

i wouldnt worry about it..........
the roof on my kontiki is just the same.

it is just a fiberglass/abs skin laid over the roof panels and sealed at the edges/wall joints, pretty much like the rear panel.
it's a different construction to the wall panels hence you can walk on it.

providing there are no leaks around skylights/vents/edges ect it is normal and nothing needs doing.

delamination of roof

When I work out how to attach a pic I'll send one in tho the problem is only noticeable when you touch the surface.

hi, treflynman, Our 746 roof is the same, it was like it from new,
now 10 mths old, possibly deliberate to reduce stress cracks,

The roof is'nt stuck down on rapidos, it allows the roof to expand and contract. Its nothing to worry about.
