So, my first question. What dealers can you suggest I visit that have a large range of 'homes to view? We've got easy access to M1 (around Watford Gap) and regularly trot over to Wolverhampton so M6/M40 are also within easy reach. We've been to Heart of England Motorhomes (had our heads turned by Burstners) and Venture Caravans (suspicious damp smells in two mohos) as they're close by. Looking for somewhere that will make our journey worthwhile and obviously will try and kill a few birds with one stone. Thanks!

I know we are getting a big area now but this is another excellent place that we visited, no pressure at all just ask for the keys you want and you can look round all day, again we didn't buy but we was one of the best blokes we met in our search.

I can agree with this. Even though we are only at the start of our looking process!! The plus point for me is that I live a mile away!!

The one I would suggest might be stretching your idea of Midlands a bit, but they are a small family run business who take great care of their vans and have many repeat customers. We bought our current van there and until we moved south, always took it back for servicing, adding accessories etc. the company is Edgehill Motorhomes, Mansfield Woodhouse, not far off the MI at the Chatsworth turn off. Lee runs the company. And they have a website so you can see what they have in stock. They specialise in new and second hand Hymers but usually have other makes too.

Don't know what they are called off hand but there's a good one for walking around at gaily crossroads just off the m6 / a5 near cannock
Got a feeling it's "Go European"
Wasn't there also a Phoenix type operation somewhere near Brownhills that was full of great salesmen but rather poor at waranty work.

White Arches motorhomes on the A45 near Wellingborough Northants always have a lot of stock in. We bought our Hymer from them in 2009, no complaints.

Never used them myself but have a friend who has traded twice with them and speaks well of his experience. http://www.broadlane.co.uk/motorhomes They have one just off the A45 at Allsley, Coventry, one at Leek Wooton near Warwick and one at Alcester near Stratford on Avon. With these dealers that have other sites they will sometimes move vehicles suiting your spec to one location if you arrange viewings first,

Interesting - Les's brother bought a brand new caravan from the Alcester site a couple of years ago and has been seriously peed off with them. Rude service staff have since been replaced but the worst was that their van was damaged while in for warranty work and they never told them about it - just left it for them to discover it for themselves....and it was pretty obvious external damage (which they are still trying to get sorted several months later)
