Can anyone recommend a decent damp test meter please?

Also would you use an invasive or non invasive one?

Invasive damp testers are only as invasive as you wish them to be. sufficient pressure to confirm contact is all
that is needed the prongs can pierce paper to gat at plaster etc if desired
for non professional use a basic BQ version at £25 is good enough as an indication and to monitor suspect areas
for getting worse etc to send you running for professional advice if needed, which you would need to prove a case against say a dealer for example
Average Jo will not be qualified even with the best meter to prove his case
You will have to learn how to interpret either type of meter
