We've driven infand, through forest clad mountains to visit Plitvicke Vational Park and are staying at Bear Camp
(sitecode: 27599).
There are over 1000 bears in Croatia and this lovely little camper stop has one outside.

This morning we got up extra early, packed a picnic and rode the 7km to the park entrance.
The park is a series of lakes, liked by waterfalls.

You can choose to tour the park on electric boats, by bus, or like us by foot. We were feeling particularly 'rufty tufty' and opted for the 12 mile route, which took 6.5 hours.
image.jpeg

The lakes are filled with the most beautiful, crystal clear, turquoise waters and are teaming with all kinds of fish.

Tonight we're off out for a celebration dinner as today is our 32nd wedding anniversary.

A great place to spend a special day.

Switching to plan 'B'

Only a couple or restaurants within walking distance - both with dubious reviews and 'international hotel style food' according to Trip Advisor

Will be moving to the coast tomorrow and having a special dinner then.

There is a bear "sanctuary" not far from Lake Plitvice with an enclose coving approx 1 acre. There are a few bears in this enclosure and they appear to disappear when they walk behind some of the spindly bushes even when only 20m away. I'd love to see them wild but I'm not suprised that they are so difficult to see. I think that Croatia has the highest density of bears in Europe but even people that work in the National Parks rarely, if ever, see them.

This morning we left the mountains behind and headed back to the coast in search of a little history!
We stopped en route at one of the many roadside stalls, to sample the local produce.
image.jpeg

After a little tasting session, we left with some Sheeps Cheese, Honey and Plum Schnspps!

We've arrived in Trogir and are staying at Camping Serget (Campercontact 28384)
image.jpeg

We managed to secure a pitch on the sea front
image.jpeg

This evening we came out for a special dinner, and Tripadvisor took us to Restaurant Zule a short walk away.
We ordered a fish and seafood platter,
image.jpeg

It included a whole grilled fish, whole grilled squid, tuna steak, langoustines, mussels, potatoes and spinach.
We enjoyed a carafe of white wine and a glass of red wine.

Can you guess the bill?
(£ sterling excluding tip - no arguing)

Tomorrow we off on our bikes to discover Trogir - World Hetitage Site

Since 2009 with motorhomes several caravans then tents before that.
Did you have one fish platter each or to share ? I'd eat that myself but I know you two are very good and share ;)
If your sharing with the wine I'm guessing £ 30.
