A little optimistic I think. 20k would get you an awful lot of cheep hotel rooms! But a 1986 Talbot? No way Pedro

could be a typo i suppose....he made enough of them in the description.

I reckon he's just pushing his luck though...and deposit taken sounds like it worked.

Brand new on eBay, no feedback. Makes me wonder whether it was his Mum who gave him the deposit  He might know something about selling cars but he knows nowt about the value of motorhomes

Graham, 'deposit taken' means some fool has given HIM a deposit to secure the vehicle...probably none returnable as well.

He has probably taken a deposit then changed the asking price to a ridiculous figure so that no-one else will bid on it.

    Saves ending the listing.

its a classified ad so no bidding.

only needs to edit the ad title to include 'now sold'

Yes I know John, just wondered if it was a put-up job to make some sort of impression. I can't think why anyone would want to pay £20K for that van.

Having written that I've just looked at the revision history and see:
    31-Jul-13 13:09:27 BST
Revised Information: Description, Advertised price, Subtitle
    so maybe thehutchies was right.

I never even looked at the ad, to be honest, but now that I have, you can look at the revisions made to the ad and the asking price and title were changed from the original.

It's common practice - that's why you will sometimes see a 100W solar panel, say, for £10,000

Edit: Ooops, just saw Graham's post!

    Like this:

    solar panel

    I can't believe he's sold 249 at that price!
    £74.95 when they're in stock!

Does seem silly to do it on classifieds, though.
