On a more serious note your van has been in storage since the end of November. I am no expert but would suspect a total discharge of the battery.

No smell and offline battery now stone cold.

Now to hunt replacements.

Are the batteries the originals that came with the van? If so, as you've got a Hobby, they will be gel. Not sure if gel batteries actually gas in the same way as wet batteries? - someone on here will know.

I swapped the gel batteries on my Hobby for wet ones. You can fit a 110Ah wet battery in the same space as an 80Ah gel one. If you do the same be sure to vent them to the outside - and change the switch on the charger to the wet setting.
