I think it's a Hymer from your profile, plastic or fibreglass area.

many many years! since I was a kid
there are different types of cracks though
stress cracks
impact cracks
flexing cracks

all need treating differently. also the same with different materials. ie grp, abs, aluminium etc

I agree with this and other quotes above.
A picture would help, plus an idea of what caused it in the first place.
All types of cracks are fixable.....
Also do you have any experience of body work repairs?
Give us some clues and we can help.

I'm a newbie
Hi, Not sure what caused the crack and dont know what type it is but can only say it is on the outside of the cab area bottom o/s/f corner below the windscreen. It looks like it had been filled before. I will produce a photo. No experience of body work repairs.

If it's on the front cap it will be fibreglass, the "crack" may well just be in the gel coat but if repaired in a paint shop it would just come back after a while.

If it is a previous repair, which has reappeared, then I would suggest that the area is unsupported (Flexing too much) OR conversely supported but too rigid?. Assuming has not been physically abused, maybe a bent /damaged bracket putting too much stress back into the area?. Again, assuming it is a fibre glass item, the repair is not difficult , just messy!, If it is ABS it can be Repaired by "welding", there are company's who can do it, or as I did (if you can get behind it) patch it with fibre glass and then fill the front and paint. Providing you "key" the ABS well paint will take. Colour matching is the worst thing. A small patch might well be best covered with a "sticker" or logo, and put one on the other side to match?.

When some pratt in a 4x4 left a nice hole in the Gell Coat on the R-V, I repaired it with fibre glass, and then had 2 US flag decals made up (A4 size), one each side and it looked original.
