Ah ha! Thanks for that. My dad always referred to the correction centre in Colchester as the Glasshouse. Is it now a generic name for a military nick?

The slightly tinged pink hue one , "Would Know" these old fashioned terms, he was in the draft that had Monty and Howie as L/cpl Drill instructors!

Both of course "sprogs!" I was of course at this time on me third L/Cpl hood, fine upstanding hero, defender of the British Empire against the Red agressors from the EAST!

There are some things that you need in Moho for those times that you can't get to shops,Spam is one and cornedbeef and a loverly dish that I have only found in France, tinned paella, this comes in 2 packs top is rice that you fry for 2 mins then open large tin put in saucepan add some water and rice simmer for 20 mins then add small pack of some seasoning that is supplied , bingo meal for 2 or 3 ,approx £2.50= really good. Found this 25 years ago when bringing boat through canals.(y) Martin

Vesta paella's not bad - particularly if you add a few extra prawns or some cooked chicken (y)

One of my other meals is to buy a pack of 2 or 4 chicken breasts cut them up small and put them in a pot with any kind of veg you like, including baby potato's and leave it in slow oven for 4 to 5 hrs in gravy and theres another cheap meal.
one of my favorites for pudding you can buy 3 tins custard in Aldi or lidel 's for a £ put that in a dish with a banana little apple pie 6 in a pack for £1 1.50 another cheap meal. HAPPY COOKING BONA PETITE
