Newbie!
I just wanted to make sure that all is ok with our Solar install.

I have one 80W panel connected to a controller and all seems to work ok and even getting a small dribble of MA coming in.

The controller shows the voltage of the battery (just over 12v) and when the EHU charger is switch on, this rises as expected. However, when the panel is generating, the display shows the panel generating around 20volts most of the time (just to avoid confusion, this is a different read out to the battery one mentioned above). I'm guessing this is the reason for a controller to make sure the battery (or batteries) are not getting high voltage passing through to it.

Very true, solar panels usually produce 17v plus which is one reason to have a controller. Little solar panels like you prop up in the windscreen don't need one as their output is very low.
