Hi all solar gurus!
I have an EP controller, a 100 watt panel (I think) and 2 x 115aH leisure batteries. When I check the settings in the little panel on the right it shows 2, 2 and 2. I believe this to be incorrect as my batteries are not gel (I presume they are what is described as "flooded" in their intructions).
It also gives priority to battery 2 (the vehicle starter battery)
And what on earth should the charging frequency be? I know 230v is 50htz in the UK but 12v frequency????

I would think the settings should be 3, 6 and whatever the frequency is? Am I correct?

I don't think the frequency really matters, it's not AC so it's only to do with the charging PWM thing but the instructions suggest that 25hz would be correct, I think sometimes you can alter it is you are getting interference on some other equipment.

The battery type setting certainly isn't right on GEL so flooded or sealed depending what they are, but either way they should have a vent tube to outside and I can't see on in your pic.

Yes you could alter the priority to the leisure batteries but would still need to watch that the engine battery stays charged, either way I think it will charge the other set once the prioritised one/ones are full. And do you know that the batteries are wired the way you think they are in battery 1 and battery 2.

1= sealed batts
5= 50/50 at the moment

12vdc doesn't have a frequency.
Only mains AC Voltage has No matter what the voltage.
The frequency is the number of times it changes from + to - and back again per second.
D.C. voltage only flows in one direction..

Sealed batteries don't generally have any means of topping up but yours has a removable bung for each cell so are normal wet (flooded) batteries.
Option 3 on 1st led.
Gell setting will overcharge as the charge voltage is higher than for flooded and sealed.

Thanks I'll change the settings around to 3, 5 and 0 asap, can't be doing much charging at the moment though.
