So following our tandem ride around Gorge Du Verdon here are a few pictures of the stand out rides we have done since then.
Rides I would recommend are Gorge du Nesque, close to Sault and Ventoux, from Digne-les-Bain there is a ride up the D900A - hire a bike if you have too it is not a difficult ride and stunning and now we are in Barcelonette with wall to wall sunshine and some high alpine cols to have a look at.
Enclosed are some pictures of a couple of the Cols we have cycled up this week.
Col de la Cayolle is a beautiful ride, we even saw Marmotts, Col de Vars different scenery with a real 'kicker' over the last 5 Kms but you can a get a coffee at the top! The piece de resistance has been Col de la Bonette which I can confirm is open, a 30 Km climb but what a ride!! Can't recommend the area highly enough. For the keen cyclist there are 7 cols to climb head to the tourist office for details. A few photos below, my 'stoker' had gone mad taking photos and apologies for my head/ shoulder being in the photo! Sometimes the photos don't do justice to the views!
PS we only started this malarkey on the tandem 18 months ago and we are not dyed in the wool cyclist so don't be put off the climbs.
Gorge du Nesque - They got through!

Thats what I call a snow wall - On the way to the top of Bonette
The Top of Col de la Bonette - Composting the card!
