just booked mine for the first Ski trip in February, Half term week for a measly £58 yep £58.... that's less now than when we started motorhoming all those years ago.
Inflation? what inflation...

any how Louise at sea France sent me the email and here's the code(s)

Sorry to rain on anyone's parade, but have you noticed the current state of the ongoing saga of the decline and possible fall of SeaFrance? For years we have used them as our ferry of choice, but have to admit that our last trip in September was via P&O. I would be cautious of forward booking with them until it is clear whether SeFrance will still be operating by the end of the year. I'm sure it is well known that they have been operating under the equivalent of Chapter 11 insolvency protection for a year or more. DFDS and LD Lines have bid jointly to buy their assets but at this stage it seems to be held up in competition analysis. SNCF, their owner, has planned to inject more capital to keep them afloat (no pun intended) but the EU Commission has resisted this as it amounts to unfair state funding. SeaFrance has just been given one more week to come up with a solution - meanwhile, industrial action will stop their sailings next Tuesday 25th October.

Some information in this link.

Well I just spent 20 minutes trying to book or at least get a price for january

Extremely unhelpful site just keeps saying dates or times are no longer available, please chose different ones

Does not offer any indication as what IS available so have now given up.. No wonder they are going skint.

why is when you offer any help, you get nothing but negativity some of you lot!!! FGS if I told you I won the lottery you would say that it will be hard to deal with all those beggars

Firstly,
JeanLuc,
We have been using SeaFrance for years and years and years. They have been going bust for every one of them, even if you search on here you will see threads from years ago saying what your saying.
I heed your warning, but nothing a good CC company are not going to help you with to get your money back and its France, jump on another Ferry there's plenty of them, its not like your touring Azebahjan or somewhere.

Jaws,
Im disappointed with you. FGS thought you were a techie? give me ya details Ill do it for you.. :roflmto:
I never had any problems, straight forward as it comes.

But stop looking a gift horse in the mouth :Eeek:

I posted the earlier comments with a degree of trepidation Paul since I certainly did not want to appear to downplay your helpful information on discount codes
Like you, we have used SeaFrance for years and have always taken the view that it's not a lot of money to lose if they do go bust and there are plenty of other ferries to use in any case.
However, this time I think they really are in the "Last-chance Routiers Lounge" as SNCF is pretty keen to offload them. Perhaps the Judicial Administrator will rule in favour of a take-over by the workers' co-operative (one of the bidders) when the ruling is given next Tuesday. At least that way there would be a strong disincentive for the workers to strike in future.

Final thought (more negativity I know) but a credit card company will only guarantee purchases of over £100. Below that, you're on your own I'm afraid.

Happy skiing (and don't break a leg).

p.s. if you do win the lottery, can I be first in the queue please? :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

I have just done it BUT if you put the offer code in you get the error message that you have been getting.

Its £172 for an 8metre motorhome and small trailer.

Well worse ways I can book the outward journey for £37 ( DFDS ) and then book the inward one whilst away ( DFDS £77 )

So not too shabby

Thanks for your efforts Paul.. It would seem Sea France are not lovers of trailers though mate !
