The a-class is more spacious, often wider than the c-class. This does come at a cost - and in the motorhome world, everything comes at a cost. Every benefit comes at the cost of something else - some may have great internal space at the cost of storage, others may have lots of storage, but a little cramped inside.
The main points with a-class vehicles is vunerability. You have to think to yourself, where you go on holiday etc. Probably not suitable if you go to the lakes, or cornwall every year down tight lanes.
If you hit a c-class, the front end is cheaply replacable, do the same on an a-class, and it gets into major repair/write off territory.
Re-sale is much more simple with a c-class, as new owners are quite nervous of anything remotely large - something that may be considered when upgrading later. Parts are also more difficult to source on some a-classes. The glass will be more expensive also, especially the windscreen - on older models may be difficult or impossible to source.
Also, check when looking at an a-class, how well it has been treated - the levels are much easier to check on a c-class with it's bonnet access point. A-classes often get missed, or not checked as often, depending on how easy the engine access is.
